I’d been gone for a week… SOPA / PIPA proposed law has been indefinitely postponed and ACTA is making all the internet users going all out war again in this ‘impossible’ law. So, we’ve been working on our small fancy requested bridal shoppe for our project and I noticed my coding is a little bit.. messy… not a little bit… ITS REALLY MESSY… NESTED TABLES ALL OVER… TABLECEPTION

I quite bothered me since I’ve been programming in-house CMS that I forgot that my client will be an outsider… so I did a little bit research on using DIV tags… at first its kinda confusing but since I’ve been exposed well enough to CSS, I only encounter few problems. So, I apply immediately on what I learned using DIVs and after 3 hours of transfering my nested TABLE tags to nested DIV tags, I noticed that using DIV tags makes my coding cleaner but my CSS took almost x2 of its former size than having a long and confusing {/tr} and {/td} in tables. I had fun using DIV but I have problem on cross-browser compatibility… I’ll try to understand DIV CSS further.

STOP SOPA + PIPA

Many websites are blacked out today to protest proposed U.S. legislation that threatens internet freedom: the Stop Internet Piracy Act (SOPA) and the Protect IP Act (PIPA). From personal blogs to giants like WordPress and Wikipedia, sites all over the web — including this one — are asking you to help stop this dangerous legislation from being passed. As a graphics designer and a front-end web developer and when I’m out of creative juice I usually hit the internet to see inspirational designs or even get commissions from various International clients… but what if all the resources websites that I’ve known… and no more clients have been shutdown or goes offline… there will be no more future for me and to the future other designers and developers.

This proposed SOPA+PIPA law is very crucial & dangerous even to other online advertisers and great web innovators, if this turns into a law… all the big sites like Facebook, Google, Twitter, Youtube and etc… we’re not going to see them anymore. We don’t know why they make a proposition like this… but all the supporters for SOPA/ PIPA are the same people who encouraged and profited from the promotion and distribution of file sharing software for an entire decade… Kazaa, Limewire, Bittorent, CNET and etc… They set up the problem of piracy so that they could ‘solve’ it and their solution is to shut down and censoring all the sites they don’t already control and then force us to use the internet as another medium for their dumbed down entertainments and in your face corporate sponsorship. And also… this big companies can claim their own copyright and shut down your (no copyright infringement) site / portfolio / blogs and put you in jail WITHOUT… yes WITHOUT DUE PROCESS.

Too bad we break the lock when went back to Vancouver after 2 days trip to Edmonton and Jasper since we can’t find the key and after 30 minutes we found it on the bottom part of my mom’s bag… haha good times good times.

4 months Roller Coaster Ride

When I was single not to long ago (well 5 years ago), I can do anything in a flash. Waking up and preparing myself to go to school would just take me about 20 minutes, from wiping the drool on my face, take a shower, dressing up, preparing my things, pat and bid my dogs’ goodbye, and I’m off to school. I even manage to pray when I wake up and leave the house. I arrive in school just in the nick of time, put down my bag and study or talk with my seatmates and doodle on my notebook, its usually the latter. When its dismissal time I would most likely be found hanging out with my gamer buddies or eating snacks with them, and I actually find that enjoying, since I want to talk and share a conversation with my friends.

One of my favorite past times would be going to a bookstore, and read a book, first of all, I don’t even have enough money to buy a book, so I get to read it and I really enjoy it. I even get caught by one of those bookstore owners… damn I’m almost done with ‘that‘ book.

But… I’d done something and got my life complicated, I was in love, really in love, and permitted someone else to enter my life and changed it, I got myself a boyfriend. At that time, my preparation for school only took for only 20 minutes has increased to 1 hour and 30 minutes… I text him as soon as I wake up and wait for replies, I can’t remember the exact details but… I always waited for his replies. And then we usually date every friday… well, I remember this since I love PE and I always leave the school premises after my one and only friday class in the morning.

Being in a relationship makes everything complicated, you can’t say that life is much easier when you’re in love, because its not true. My alone time lessened, and me hanging out at bookstores, would just be a way pass time as I wait for him to arrive.

But the sad thing is… all good things must come to an end, the 4 months roller coaster ride relationship just vanish.
It is very painful, but as life goes on… I must move on also.

I’m going to do a small project, and its about travel photography.. I’ve been out of the country for almost a year so I’m going to post items that I got from travelling and items that may trigger totaly waderlust in me.

Saw this while cleaning my old camera bag this morning, it sure brings back memories hopefully I’m going to visit Toronto again.
